We are finally moving on to Exodus...
The Pharaoh issued a decree that every [Hebrew] boy that is born you must be thrown into the Nile.
Exodus 1:22
Moses is born and is immediately loved by his mother. She tried to hide him for as long as she could. When it was time she made the basket for baby Moses. The Pharaoh's daughter finds him and decides to adopt him. So much love! In a way, this story reminds me of the one with Abraham and Isaac, and the sacrifice.
Not only does this story show an overarching theme of love but I think it shows courage, especially through Moses' big sister. She had some spunk! She was only a slave girl, but she saw an opportunity and made a decision to act- it didn't matter that the woman she approached was the royal princess! Was Moses's sister afraid? Maybe a little, Intimidated? Wouldn't you be? But she took the initiative. God will give you opportunities in life- a chance to share your faith, a moment to be kind to someone- but if you blink, you may miss them. Ask God to help you recognize a good opportunity. Then act on it!
What do you Ladies think?
Have a good one!
Anne :)
