I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! An now do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.
Genesis 45: 4-5
This verse show the love shared within a family. I love it so much, after being mistreated and bullied by his brothers, and then sold into slavery. Joseph, when he sees his brothers, weeps and tells them that he has forgiven them. The emotions in this scene are plentiful. Joseph is weeping and trying to contain himself. Imagine what is going through Joseph's brothers minds, " Oh crap! After everything we've done to him, what is he going to do to us now that he is the leader of Egypt?!?!" And Jacob, Joseph's father, in disbelief, and then he was full of eternal joy! Joseph was able to see God's hand in everything that happened in his life. God used Joseph's jealous brothers and his suffering to in turn save the lives of others. Joseph's dreams got him into the ruler position he had in Egypt.
God wants us to remember our lives are like jigsaw puzzles. We might not have all the pieces, but one day things will make more sense than they do now.
Have a good one!
Anne
