DAY 6: Jacob and Rachel: Labor of Love: Genesis 29: 15-30

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!

Wowzers!! Jacob had some serious persistence. Imagine wanting something so much that you'd work seven years to get it. 7 years is soooo long!!! That is how many years are between Sarah and I. 7 years ago I was in 6th grade!!! Where were you 7 years years ago?

Anyway, don't you think you'd get discouraged after the 4th year or so (I would be after the first 3 months) Jacob kept going. He had his eye set on the goal and he never gave up. What kinds of foal do you guys currently have? Having a career? Getting into a good college? Excelling in cross country? Being a musical theater star? Serving God in the missions field? The key to all of these is perseverance and never giving up. Work hard with what God has given you today. That is laying the foundation for what's to come in the future.

Thoughts?

Heres the LINK!!! to a short video on perseverance, it is from the 1992 Olympics.

What made the father do that? To leave the stands and meet his son on the tracks? It was the pain of his child. His son was hurt and fighting to finish the race so the father came to help him. God is like that. When we are hurting and fighting to finish, he comes and helps us.

So remember, we should try to persevere even when it's hard, because God will come and help us!

Love y'all!
Anne :)
